Drums – my U2 A to Z
I love drums! I love drummers! When I listen to music, all I hear is drums and lyrics. That is what moves me – literally and figuratively. I am the one at the concert watching the drummer and not the lead singer or guitarist. When I first moved to Memphis, one of the first places I visited was the Memphis Drum Shop. My love of drums and drummers started when I discovered U2 and Larry Mullen Jr, more on him later. One of my favorite quotes is “It’s All About Drums.” The first time I heard it was on the Achtung Baby documentary when Larry said, “I don’t think the lyrics are worth a shit to be honest if you ask me, I think it’s all about drums.” -at the end of the following video at 7:06:
