Veterans Stadium Philly ZooTv – my U2 Concerts A to Z

My favorite ‘V‘ U2 concert was also my last on the Zoo Tv Tour at Veterans Stadium in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on September 3, 1992. There were two shows in Philadelphia and I was supposed to go to both, but was I moving back to College Park so I only went to the second one. I guess back then I thought some things (like college) were more important than U2 shows.

17-larry-and-adam-in-phillyIt was raining that day in Philly, so those of us waiting outside the stadium were allowed inside the stadium for U2’s sound check. We had to promise not to scream or cheer or clap. We were also excited because our friend Maggie, who wrote a fanzine, got us hospitality passes for the show, but all that got us were some soda and chips. We didn’t see U2 back stage at all. In fact, I don’t think we were actually back stage. But we did get to hear “Whiskey in the Jar” and “When Loves Come to Town,” my first time for both. That’s all I remember from that day, being let in for the sound check and my hospitality pass.

ZooTv Philly 9.3.92 Set List was as follows: Zoo Station, The Fly, Even Better Than The Real Thing, Mysterious Ways, One-Unchained Melody, Until The End Of The World, New Year’s Day, Whiskey In The Jar, Trying to Throw Your Arms Around the World, Angel Of Harlem, When Love Comes to Town, I Still Haven’t Found , Satellite of Love, Bad-All I Want Is You, Bullet The Blue Sky, Running to Stand Still, Where the Streets , Pride, Desire, With or Without You, Love Is Blindness, Can’t Help Falling in Love.

This is part of my Blogging from A to Z Challenge about ‘My U2 Concerts A to Z.’ Thanks for stopping by. Please come back tomorrow as I write about my favorite ‘W’ U2 show.
